There was plenty of laughter and energy around Kildare College as students and staff came together to celebrate Brigidine Day. One of the highlights of our College calendar, the day provided an opportunity to celebrate our community while recognising the life and legacy of St Brigid.
Celebrations began with the College community coming together for Mass, providing an opportunity to reflect on St Brigid and the values she modelled throughout her life – compassion, courage, generosity and service to others. Her example continues to inspire us to consider how we can make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
Following Mass, students gathered in their Houses for the presentation of PC Certificates, recognising students who make a positive contribution to their PC and live out the spirit and values of Kildare.
Then it was time for the festivities! Extended recess saw the College come alive with food, games and activities. Students tested their skills with carnival games, made friendship bracelets, enjoyed the BBQ and plenty of sweet treats, or just simply spent time with friends enjoying the atmosphere.
The celebrations continued with the much-anticipated K Factor, where students showcased their talents through singing, dancing and instrumental performances. Just as impressive was the enthusiastic support and encouragement shown by the audience to every performer.
Brigidine Day was a wonderful celebration of friendship, fun and community, reminding us that the spirit of St Brigid continues to live through the way we connect with, support and celebrate one another.

Our College community recently came together for a Father’s Day celebration filled with laughter, connection, and a touch of friendly competition. Families gathered for a Barbecue and Activities Afternoon, providing our community with the opportunity to spend quality time together.
A highlight of the afternoon was the much anticipated Dad vs Daughter games. The activities sparked plenty of smiles, encouragement, and good natured rivalry as participants embraced the challenges.
The irresistible aroma of barbecue filled the air as we came together to share a meal and each other’s company. The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of connection and creating lasting memories. We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a special and memorable occasion.
We extend our warmest wishes to all fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures within our community. We hope your day was filled with love, appreciation, and the company of those who matter most.
We also acknowledge that Father’s Day can bring mixed emotions for some. We remember those who have lost their fathers, those who are separated from them, and those who carry cherished memories of loved ones in their hearts. May this day bring peace, comfort, and reflection, and may all members of our community feel the care and support of the Kildare College family.

Last week, Kathy Hennig, Tara Piro and I had the pleasure of attending the City of Tea Tree Gully Youth Achievement Awards, alongside several of our students who were nominated for awards.
The Youth Achievement Awards are an important initiative of the City of Tea Tree Gully, celebrating the contributions of young people within the local community. The Kildare College community was bursting with creativity and excitement as we celebrated this year’s Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories
The day was filled with imagination and a wonderful celebration of storytelling through music-inspired costumes and performances.
Students embraced the theme with enthusiasm, dressing as a diverse range of musical and literary characters, special mention to our Best Dressed Student: Jack Sparrow!
From famous musicians and composers to beloved characters from stories with musical connections, the creativity on display was truly impressive. The vibrant costumes brought colour, energy and excitement to the College.
A fantastic crowd of students gathered to cheer on and support the participants of our annual parade, creating an atmosphere filled with encouragement, applause and school spirit. It was wonderful to see so many students confidently taking part and celebrating the joy of reading and storytelling together.
The judges were delighted by the effort and imagination shown by both students and staff, making the task of selecting winners a difficult one. Congratulations to all participants for embracing the theme and helping make the event such a success.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this memorable celebration of Book Week. The incredible number of participants, combined with the enthusiastic support from the crowd, made Symphony of Stories a truly special event.
