Recently we had the privilege of welcoming over 150 grandparents for a wonderful morning of breakfast and bingo. Our Brigidine Centre was filled with laughter, love, and a unique energy that only grandparents and their granddaughters can create together.
Watching the joy in our students’ eyes as they shared this special time with their grandparents was a reminder of just how meaningful these relationships are. Grandparents bring a deep well of wisdom, support, and unconditional love into our students’ lives. Their presence helps our students’ feel grounded, cherished and understood in a way that only grandparents can provide. Moments like these are more than just events; they are the foundation of lasting memories and invaluable life lessons. Grandparents have a unique way of nurturing self-confidence and resilience, encouraging our students to embrace life’s challenges with hope, courage and joy.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, bringing love and laughter and, of course, a bit of friendly bingo competition with happy dances from the lucky winners!
This week we had the pleasure of celebrating Italian Language Week at Kildare College.
Students had the opportunity to engage in a variety of engaging activities and dive into tasty, authentic Italian sweet and savoury treats!
On Monday, students ate delicious cannoli under the Oaks, kindly supplied by Avanti Pasticceria. Tuesday was Italian film day where students watched an Italian film (with English subtitles) titled, Come Diventare Grande Nonostante e Genitori: How to Grow Up Despite Your parents. Wednesday was masking making day! Students had fun creating their own unique and individual Venetian Italian masks. The competitive side of our students shone on Thursday with Scopa, an Italian card game and Bocce, a fun team sport. Finally, on Friday, students made the traditional Italian appetizer, Bruschetta.
