Term 4 Week 6 | 2024

The Class of 2024 signed off as Kildare College students at the Graduation Dinner. Hosted at Adelaide Oval, it was a night of celebration, reminiscence and optimism for the future.

Elegant dresses complemented the beaming smiles of our graduates with proud families watching on as each graduate was presented to our Principal, Tina Neate. She farewelled the graduates with the now traditional ‘Toast to the Graduates’ and addressed the cohort and their families for the final time.

Our College Captains made their final address to our community and endeared themselves one last time with heartfelt messages full of gratitude and authenticity.

Once formalities were finished, the dance floor was the place to be, full of graduates, their friends and families, celebrating the momentous occasion. As a giant conga line snaked through the function room with all the graduates participating, the friendships and connections Kildare students create throughout their schooling was evident.

As families filtered out at the end of the festivities, the genuine, warm connection and partnership between families and the staff of Kildare College was clear for all.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024, we will miss you. Remember, you will always remain part of our Kildare College community.

Last week we enjoyed our annual Cultural Celebration Day!

Students and staff dressed in traditional cultural clothing, colours of their national flag, sporting apparel representing their country of origin and culturally significant accessories.

Our celebrations began with a Cultural Parade, with staff and students proudly representing their country of origin. We then presented an assembly that included some fantastically talented and moving performances and speeches by our students which highlighted the cultural tapestry that shapes Kildare. We also had the incredible opportunity to welcome Bortier Okoe from African Soul who not only shared with us an important message of inclusion but also some traditional African drumming patterns. To end our assembly, students and staff who speak more than one language shared a “goodbye” showcasing the rich diversity of our community.

Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of activities such as African drumming, Greek and Latin dancing, Runic Art, Italian card games, and Henna. At the Festa, students enjoyed sushi, bubble tea from Bubble Me Bubble Tea, hot food from Habibi Bites, and Bushtucker ice cream. Students participated in a cookie decorating workshop, creating heart shaped cookies of the world and sharing their cultural backgrounds with others.

The day was a wonderful celebration of our Core Values and our multiculturalism. We thank the Chai and Chat, Nunga and Living Justice | Living Peace Groups for all of their work to make this day such a success.

Money raised will go to the Australian Refugee Association and we thank everyone for their support.

The College buzzed with energy as students and staff came together to celebrate Health and Physical Education Week. The week was packed with engaging activities designed to promote fitness, teamwork, and fun.

Each lunchtime, students were spoiled for choice with activities such as badminton, bocce, archery, and cornhole. Adding a cultural twist, participants also embraced the unique challenges of Tchoukball and Kabaddi, broadening their understanding of global sports.

A highlight of the week was the smoothie station, where students could fuel their energy levels with delicious Mango Magic, Tropical Crush, and Berry Bang smoothies. These tasty drinks were blended using the popular smoothie bikes, offering a fun and interactive way to encourage healthy eating.

The week reached an exciting crescendo with the Interhouse Volleyball Grand Final. Cheers echoed across the court as teams battled for victory, showcasing incredible skills and sportsmanship. To conclude, students rotated through games stations, ensuring everyone had a chance to participate and celebrate the spirit of the week.

Health and Physical Education Week was a tremendous success, inspiring students to stay active and embrace healthy habits while fostering student and staff connections and unforgettable memories.
