We were delighted to welcome families back to Kildare for our Senior Years Academic Awards Assembly, a joyful occasion celebrating the achievements of our Class of 2025, alongside our Semester 2 Academic and Endeavour Award recipients from Years 11 and 12. The assembly opened with a powerful and captivating dance performance, Life is Messy, choreographed and performed by Ashleigh Johnson. This dynamic piece set the tone for an afternoon that honoured both creativity and academic excellence. We then celebrated students who achieved Merits and outstanding results, including ATAR rankings in the 80s and 90s, a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to learning.
Our College Dux, Jasmine Tsiros, shared thoughtful and generous advice with current students. She acknowledged the unwavering support of her teachers and family, highlighted the importance of organisation and fully engaging with the drafting process, and reminded students to enjoy the journey and make the most of their time at the College. Adding to the richness of the assembly, we were also treated to a beautiful musical performance by Charlotte Muir, who composed and performed her original song, ‘Without Rain’.
The celebration concluded with the presentation of awards to our current Years 11 and 12 students, recognising their academic achievements and endeavour.
It was a wonderful occasion, one that reflected the talent, hard work, and spirit of our students, and a proud moment for our whole College community.
In Week 3, our Year 11 students stepped away from the usual rhythm of school life to take part in their annual Retreat, centred on our core value of Compassion. It was a day to pause, breathe and reconnect with themselves, with one another and with the wider world around them.
The day began with a beautiful Indigenous weaving workshop led by Nikki Carabetta. As students carefully crafted woven bangles, they learnt about the deep cultural significance of weaving and its connection to storytelling, community and belonging. Their generous gold coin donations will go towards purchasing a cot for a newborn baby in a remote Indigenous community. This is compassion, not just spoken about, but lived.
Later, the cohort gathered for a Year Level Liturgy grounded in Compassion and Justice. In this quiet and reflective space, students were invited to consider how empathy, courage and kindness can shape the way they move through the world. Writing letters to their future selves was a particularly meaningful moment. It was a chance to acknowledge how far they have come and to set intentions for the young women they are becoming.
The afternoon at Bowland brought laughter, shared experiences and the simple joy of being together. These moments of connection matter. They strengthen friendships and nurture the sense of belonging that sits at the heart of our community.
Overall, the Retreat was more than a day out of the classroom. It was a day of reflection, generosity and genuine connection. A reminder that Compassion is not just a value we speak about at Kildare, but one we strive to live each day.
The 2026 Kildare College Senior Formal lit up the elegant Hilton Hotel Adelaide, setting the scene for an unforgettable night of celebration and style.
As our Years 11 and 12 students arrived, the ballroom quickly shifted from a quiet, glimmering space into a vibrant atmosphere buzzing with excitement, pride and joyful anticipation. College Captains, Solomia and Lilla warmly welcomed everyone, kicking off the evening with a wonderful sense of connection and community.
Dressed in stunning gowns and sharp suits, our students brought confidence, poise and plenty of personality, perfectly capturing the spirit of Kildare College. Once the music began, the dance floor stayed full from start to finish, with many students reluctant to let the final song bring the celebration to a close.
As they spilled out into the warm Friday evening air, there was a clear sense of joy, energy and uplift, something that will no doubt carry them confidently into the early months of the school year.
Filled with laughter, music and unforgettable memories, the 2026 Senior Formal was a vibrant and heart‑warming celebration.
