Bloom, the 2024 Creative Industries and Home Economics exhibition, was a vibrant showcase of talent, innovation, and creativity across Art, Design, Photography, Media, Woodwork, Jewellery, Child Studies and Textiles. This much anticipated event brought together students, families, and the community to celebrate the incredible achievements of our young creatives. Guests were also treated to delicious dishes prepared by Year 9 students as part of their spice assignment, adding a flavourful and interactive element to the evening.
The exhibition featured a stunning array of student work, from intricate sea glass jewellery and custom-designed longboards to bold visual art pieces and innovative textile creations. Each piece reflected not only the technical skills developed in the classroom, but also the personal stories, imagination, and dedication of our students.
Bloom also highlighted cross-curricular projects, such as the collaborative efforts of Year 8 students in Material Solutions and STEM to create functional Bluetooth speakers, as well as the Year 7 Textiles and Art collaboration where students painted and constructed their unique laptop pouches. Guests enjoyed exploring the diverse disciplines, gaining insight into the hands-on learning opportunities offered within the Creative Industries and Home Economics.
We are incredibly proud of our students and their achievements and look forward to seeing how their creativity continues to bloom and grow in the years ahead.
After many months of rehearsal, the cast and crew of Shrek JR entertained the excited audiences with their impressive performances. The hard work and energy they put into the show was evident during the three shows as they brought the well loved characters to life. The costumes dazzled under the lights and enthusiasm of the choreography kept the audiences entertained. Highlights of the performance included the Dragon’s performance of Forever as she fell in love with Donkey, the audience laughter during Shrek and Fiona’s I Got You Beat, the fairy tale creatures singing about their struggles in Story of My Life and Freak Flag, as well as the show stopping finale of I’m a Believer. Congratulations to the 2024 Shrek JR cast and crew. What a wonderful performance!

The final week of school is always a bit of a whirlwind, but this year, our students made it extra special by celebrating it wholeheartedly and in true festive style. With our much-loved Christmas Door tradition, lively House meetings, thrilling interhouse competitions, and some unforgettable year level excursions, this last week was one for the books.
The Christmas Door Tradition: A Festive Explosion of Creativity
If you walked through the College hallways this week, you were likely greeted with an explosion of glitter, lights, tinsel, and festive flair. Each Pastoral Care class had the chance to decorate their classroom door in the most creative, wacky, and festive way possible.
Christmas Liturgy and Assembly: A Moment to Reflect and Celebrate
Amid the fun and games, we also took a moment to pause and reflect during our Christmas Liturgy and Assembly. With carols filling the air and beautiful readings reminding us of the true spirit of Christmas, it was a touching reminder of the importance of kindness, generosity, and how fortunate we are to be part of our loving Kildare community.
Year-Level Fun Days: Making Memories Together
Year 7 kicked things off with a trip to AFL Max, where they unleashed their inner athletes, bouncing, dodging, and diving through obstacle courses and practicing their footy skills. There were plenty of laughs, some surprisingly competitive moments, and a few awkward tumbles, but everyone had an absolute blast.
Year 8 students took their talents to Waterworld, splashing and sliding their way through an epic day of water fun. Whether they were racing down water slides or lounging under the cool of the trees, the Year 8 students proved that nothing beats a little bit of fun outdoors… and water.
Year 9 wrapped up the week with an adventurous trip to Woodhouse. From the tube slides course to nature walks and team-building games, it was a day filled with laughter, challenges, and bonding. Year 9 students discovered that nothing brings people together like working together to conquer an obstacle course.
