Blessed with the most beautiful spring weather, Brigidine Day celebrated our Brigidine Tradition with joy and wonder. We began the day with Mass and welcomed Ms Kathy McEvoy, Co-Chair of the Trustees of Kildare Ministries, Dr Dalal Smiley, CEO of Wellsprings for Women and the parishioners of St Pius X Parish.
After mass, Dr Smiley addressed us about the importance of the work of Wellsprings for Women, a Kildare Ministries Community Work, in supporting women across a range of challenging situations. https://www.wellspringsforwomen.com/
Our College Captains and Prefects launched ‘Ignite’ our Wellsprings for Women fundraising and awareness raising initiative through the installation of a collective artwork as a way for the entire community to come together. We embarked on creating a paper lantern, each in the colours of the Wellsprings for Women logo, and together with Ms James, and Ms Neeb, whose creative genius masterminded the aesthetic of the entire installation, the collective artwork was assembled for all to see.
Lunch followed with enticing delicious food scents permeating both the plaza and the Oaks courtyard. Pastoral Care classes planned for a range of food and activity stalls, which the whole community enjoyed.
The K-Factor, with Georgia and Charli as MCs, showcased amazing student talent with a finale by staff. Congratulations to everyone involved.
One of the most memorable events on the College calendar, Brigidine Day, truly did not disappoint and saw the entire community laughing, eating delicious food, applauding, connecting, supporting an incredibly important cause and celebrating together.

Our Wellbeing Week Assembly was held on Thursday- R U OK? Day. We gathered to listen to the wisdom of our accomplished guest speaker, Ms Vicky Welgraven AM, mother also to Khlyeesha, past College Captain, who was also present. Ms Welgraven spoke about her many achievements, personal challenges, the nature of leadership and the importance of taking care of each other and being agents of positive change. Her inspiring and heartfelt speech also recounted the deep gratitude both she and Khyleesha feel for the support that Kildare offered Khlyeesha during her education.
Our Year 12 Music students performed Here Comes the Sun, and our 30 Mentors – students who volunteer to support others in the community- were presented with a certificate of appreciation recognising our gratitude for their kind generosity of spirit.
The Assembly concluded with the entire community singing along to Pink’s Cover Me in Sunshine; the perfect way to end such a beautiful celebration. The Gym was positively charged and joy filled.
Pope Francis recently posted: “No two drops of water are alike, nor are two brothers or sisters, not even twins are completely identical. Living out fraternity means welcoming each other, recognizing each other as equal in diversity. “
Wellbeing Week at Kildare is a time to lift each other up and remember that each one of us is unique and precious; it’s a time to reach out and celebrate the good and a time to remember that asking for help can be the bravest thing we can do in times of challenge.
This year’s RISE Winter Exhibition was a highlight of the Year 9 Project-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum. With a theme centered on an enterprising approach to learning, students were tasked with ideating, prototyping, and pitching innovative solutions to problems in their world. The exhibition allowed students to publicly present these creative ideas, developed through Activate, an entrepreneurial learning program facilitated in partnership with Future Anything.
We were fortunate to have Future Anything guest Julia Penn join us for the evening, adding further excitement and inspiration to the event. We’re also thrilled to be entering students into the Finals this year, where their work will continue to shine.
The exhibition featured live performances by Senior Music students, and guests enjoyed delicious hot chocolates made by Year 10 Café Culture students.
As a vital step in the PBL process, making student work public, invites peers, teachers, and the wider community to engage with and discuss their ideas. The innovative projects ranged from sustainability initiatives to inventive product designs, all aimed at making the world a better place.
