Welcome to Term 3. It is with a full heart and gratitude that I return to our beautiful community. There is something truly special about our College, and to once again be surrounded by the spirit, strength, and gentleness of our community is a gift I cherish. This year, as we embrace the 2025 Year of Hospitality – Welcoming all, I am reminded once again of how this theme is already lived at Kildare.
We are so proud of our students. They continue to show determination, kindness, and courage as they grow into the young women they are becoming. For our Year 12 students, this term marks the beginning of their final chapter at Kildare. There is still much to do before they graduate, and we will continue to walk with them every step of the way, encouraging them to finish with purpose and pride.

I would like to sincerely thank the Leadership Team and all staff for leading the College with such dedication, wisdom, and compassion during my time away. This term, we also welcome Zefi Pezos to the Leadership Team.
Finally, to be back at Kildare, being with our students, staff, and families, is a privilege. This is a place where every young person is encouraged to thrive, to find their voice, and to take their place in the world with confidence and courage.
Kildare College proudly hosted its annual Futures Fair, an exciting event designed to inspire and guide students as they explore their future pathways. With a fantastic turnout, the event showcased our community’s shared commitment to empowering young women.
Students and families connected with a diverse range of higher education providers, including universities and industry experts, gaining valuable insights into courses, scholarships, and future pathways. Stallholders were impressed by the confidence and curiosity of our students, who asked thoughtful questions and eagerly gathered resources to shape their futures.
‘Her SACE Journey’ presentations unpacked our subject selection process, the integration of VET options, and the distinction between SACE and ATAR. The session aimed to inform families, helping students make confident, informed decisions about their education and career paths.
The Futures Fair continues to grow as a key event in our pathway planning program—inspiring students to dream big, act with purpose, and follow their passions.

This week, Kildare College came alive with creativity, colour and curiosity as we celebrated Creative Industries Week. Each day offered students a hands-on opportunity to explore a different area within the Creative Industries, showcasing the diversity and innovation of our programs.
The week kicked off on Monday with a calming Paint Your Own Mug session in the Art studios, where students expressed their personalities through vibrant and thoughtful designs. On Tuesday, the Jewellery workshop featured Polymer Clay, with students crafting unique earrings, pendants and key rings – many discovering a love for handmade jewellery design. Thursday’s focus shifted to Photography, where students created striking Cyanotype prints using natural materials and sunlight, revealing the magic of alternative photographic processes. On Friday, the Timber workshop used pyrography techniques to create custom keychains, blending design with craftsmanship.
A special mention also goes toLucia in Year 7, whose vibrant painting was selected as the background artwork for this year’s Creative Industries Week poster, setting the tone for the entire celebration.
Adding even more colour to the week, PC groups took part in Chalk the Walk, decorating the courtyard with joyful, inspiring, and thoughtful messages and imagery. It was a beautiful burst of student voice and creativity that brightened everyone’s day.

Creative Industries Week was a celebration of imagination, innovation, and expression, highlighting how the arts continue to inspire, connect, and shape our school community.
The Year 12 Retreat is more than just a break from the classroom—it’s a transformative experience that allows our students to pause, reconnect, and recharge as they prepare to step into the last few months at Kildare. Over three days, students immersed themselves in a program designed to inspire, challenge, and uplift.
Anchored in Our Core Value of Hope, the Retreat embraced the theme Looking Back to Look Forward. Students were invited to reflect on their personal growth and envision the future with optimism and hope.
The Retreat was rich with moments of joy and depth. A baby photo competition sparked laughter, while sessions on St Brigid and Nano Nagle offered profound insights into lives lived with purpose and light. The symbolism of light—Jesus as ‘the way, the light, and the life’, St Brigid’s lamp of learning, and Nano Nagle’s lantern—served as a powerful reminder of the light each student carries within.
A highlight of the Retreat was the creation of affirmation bags. Students were encouraged to write positive and affirming messages for their peers, fostering a spirit of kindness and connection. The Retreat included a spectacular fashion show with our very own ‘Met Gala’, where students showcased creativity and teamwork by designing and modelling dresses made entirely from newspaper and masking tape—an evening filled with laughter, innovation, and flair.
On the final day, our College Captains led a moving liturgy that brought the group together in reflection and unity. A particularly touching moment was when students received the letters they had written to themselves in Year 7. They then penned new letters—this time expressing their hopes for the future.
It was a privilege to walk alongside our students during this Retreat—a time marked by growth, connection, and the enduring light of hope.
